Happy Tree Project

Happiness is truly contagious—happy thoughts, hope, smiles, and positive energy spread like a distant fragrance, growing stronger as they touch more lives. With this belief, Ekta Bajaj, the co-founder of the festival, initiated The Happy Tree project on New Year’s Day 2021. Starting from her front garden, she transformed a tree into a symbol of warmth, love, and positivity. Over time, The Happy Tree became a global initiative, with participants from France, India, Canada, Berlin, Africa, and Belgium joining the movement.

The Happy Tree also has been an integral part of the annual AIM Literary Festival serving as a vibrant display that celebrates cultural integration and collective positivity. Showcasing messages, quotes, and uplifting words contributed by authors, attendees, and children, it enhances the festival's spirit of unity, creativity, and shared human connection.

In 2022, a replica of Happy Tree was inaugurated at the Nehru Centre, London, The Cultural wing of the High Commission of India, which hosted the AIM Literary Festival that year. This artificial tree now occupies a prominent position within the distinguished reception hall of the Nehru Centre.

The AIM Literary Festival 2023 and 2024 brought back The Happy Tree, a central highlight of the festival, inspiring numerous literary conversations around affirmations, mindfulness, and positive well-being.

We would like people, schools, corporations, and care homes to join us in creating a Happy Tree and help us spread oneness and harmony through positive messages.
